Compact, capable, and packed with features, this classic 114mm Newtonian Reflector Telescope is the perfect blend of performance and portability. Its 114mm primary mirror collects ample light for observing the Moon, planets, and bright deep-sky objects like nebulae and galaxies. With a fast focal ratio of f/4.4 and a 500mm focal length, it's also well-suited for deep-sky imaging, providing a wide field of view and shorter exposure times.

Mounted on a smooth equatorial mount, this telescope features slow-motion controls on both the right ascension and declination axes, allowing precise tracking of celestial objects as they move across the sky. A special smartphone mount is included, enabling users to connect their phone and use the AR-Telescope App to identify visible constellations and planets. The app also includes an astronomy encyclopedia packed with fascinating facts. Additional accessories include two eyepieces (25mm and 10mm) for magnifications of 20x and 50x, a red-dot finder scope, and a counterweight to maintain balance when accessories are added.

It's out of collimation to the point that you can't get a good focus on the moon and planets. Doesn't have a serial number to register it on the web site, that requires it to be registered. Called for help and was told could register with the date?

We cannot guarantee collimation when a telescope is shipped. One drop and the mirrors can move. We will be happy to guide you through collimation. Go to our customer portal -- https://explorescientific.supportsync.com/ -- register an account, open a case, and tells us the support you need.

Regarding the serial number questions: Our product registration page -- https://explorescientific.com/apps/product-registration -- outlines the process.

It states: For products that do not include a serial number, use the product item number followed by the date of purchase expressed in a six-digit format. For example, a purchase date of January 1, 2018, would be entered as 010118.

I’m not sure as this is a Christmas present and wrapped upon arrival, which is taking a big chance that all is good given your 30 day return policy! Also I’ve tried to have my email address changed by contacting support, no response. I’m hoping the telescope is good and undamaged on Christmas morning.
